Beyond the Gates (BTG) spoilers indicate that the Fairmont Crest gated community is about to grow.
That’s because the new soap recently announced that Jon Lindstrom, best known for his roles in General Hospital (GH) and Port Charles, along with Cady McClain from All My Children (AMC) and Days of Our Lives (DOOL) fame, have officially joined the cast.
McClain is slated to play Pamela Curtis, an old friend of Dani Dupree (Karla Mosley), while Linstrom is stepping into the role of Joey Armstrong, a businessman who owns a casino.
The announcement was made during a press junket for the soap’s debut, which is about a week away, taking place on Monday, February 24 at 2 p.m. ET on CBS.
BTG’s Creator, Head Writer, and one of the Executive Producers, Michele Val Jean stated that she had been ‘chomping at the bit’ to reveal the newest cast members as she was so excited.
She added that it is a privilege to introduce McClain and Lindstrom to the new soap, whom she believes are not only soap icons, but also happen to be, two of her “most favorite people on the planet.”
Meanwhile, Lindstrom shared a bit about his new character, Joey, noting he comes from the “other side of the tracks”, and fought his way up, but has “never lost his charm.
Lindstrom reminds everyone that Joey does run a casino, where people can land into a lot of trouble, and “Joey doesn’t like trouble”.
McClain notes she’s super excited about working on BTG, stating she’s ‘thrilled’ to be part of this amazing new soap and the ‘incredible cast’.
She adds that she got to work a lot with Mosley, where the two characters are involved in a bit of trouble – but that was all she’d say!
As of this writing, Lindstrom and McClain’s first airdates were not revealed; however, McClain will be there for Dani when her ex-hubby, Bill Hamilton (Timon Kyle Durrett) gets married to the very mistress who broke up their marriage – Hayley Lawson, (Marquita Goings).
This is credited as BTG’s fifth episode and was shot in early November, while Lindstrom is credited during the soap’s 13 show that was filmed in early December.
McClain has a long soap resume, playing AMC’s Dixie Cooney, Days’ Jennifer Horton Deveraux, as well as As the World Turns (ATWT) Rosanna Cabot, and played Kelly Andrews on the Young and the Restless (Y&R).
During her soap career, she’s won three Daytime Emmy Awards and was the first female to receive this award for three different characters on three different shows.
Lindstrom currently has a recurring role in GH, playing Kevin Collins.
He first entered the soap in 1992, playing psychopath Ryan Chamberlain (Kevin’s ‘evil twin) brother.
While he exited GH in 1995, Lindstrom joined the cast of GH’s spinoff show, Port Charles, when it debuted in 1997 and was there until it was cancelled in 2003.
Over the years, Lindstrom also appeared on ATWT, where he acted alongside McClain. During his time on the soaps, he’s received a total of four Daytime Emmy nominations.
Beyond the Gates spoilers suggest the anticipation for the first episode continues to build and will heighten now that soap fans know some long-time favs will also be a part of this ground-breaking daytime drama.
