Saturday Night Live’s 50th anniversary special on Sunday, February 16th, will include musical performances from the likes of Paul McCartney, Paul Simon, Miley Cyrus, Sabrina Carpenter, Lil Wayne, Brittany Howard, and The Roots.
These performances will be interspersed as part of a three-hour primetime special that also promises numerous live sketches featuring past and present SNL cast members and other special guests, and retrospectives celebrating the show’s 50th anniversary. It all goes down Sunday, February 16th at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on NBC and Peacock.
For his part, Simon will make a rare live appearance, having largely retired from performing following severe hearing loss in 2023. The 83-year-old singer-songwriter is a close friend of SNL creator Lorne Michaels and has hosted the show four times, in addition to appearing as the musical guest on 13 occasions.
Meanwhile, Cyrus, Howard, and The Roots will also participate in the SNL50: The Homecoming Concert taking place at Radio City Music Hall in New York City later this evening, and which will stream live on Peacock.
