The internet is overflowing with evidence documenting the questionable lengths people will go to in a quest for clout. That body of proof grows on a daily basis, and we have a fantastic new example courtesy of an Australian influencer who landed in the hospital after trying (and failing) to spring through 1,000 strips of duct tape.
Jeff Goldblum’s character in Jurassic Park famously criticized the scientists responsible for creating the dinosaurs that served as the main attraction for being so preoccupied with whether or not they could bring extinct species back to life that they failed to consider if they should.
That adage certainly applies to the countless people who’ve attempted to go viral online with the help of the many challenges they have no one but themselves to blame for attempting, which includes the one an Australian influencer known as “Lil Golo” recently decided to take on.
The internet personality (who also positions himself as a bodybuilder, rapper, and adult entertainer) has amassed over 225,000 followers on Instagram and saw that number grow with the help of a clip where he attempted to see how many strips of duct tape he needed to strap between two poles before it was strong enough to stop him from sprinting through them.
Lil Golo didn’t have any trouble when that number was 1, 10, or, 100, and after heading to the store to drop hundreds of dollars on a resupply, he opted to jump straight to 1,000 strips.
He was firmly stonewalled on his first attempt, but that didn’t prevent him from bouncing back up for a second where he was once again rejected before slamming his head on the ground, which led to the people filming him calling an ambulance after he showcased the telltale signs of a severe concussion.
He was subsequently taken to the hospital and hinted he may retire from similar stunts courtesy of the reality check he got from the duct tape.
