Lola Young, breakout star and one of our Emerging Artists to Watch in 2025, stopped by SiriusXM’s Alt Nation studio to perform a cover of Arctic Monkeys’ “I Wanna Be Yours,” She also gave a rendition of her hit song “Messy” as well as her 2024 single “Conceited.”
Young performed her Arctic Monkeys cover in a stripped-down fashion, with just a piano backing her. She provides a jazzier rendition of the track, highlighting her raspy, expressive voice. It definitely contrasts with the AM original, which has seen a major second wind on social media over the last few years. Watch her cover below.
She also performed “Messy,” a song that appeared on her 2024 album This Wasn’t Meant for You Anyway and has since risen to #14 on the Billboard Hot 100. Young had previously brought “Messy” to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last month, which marked her second late night television performance in the US.
