Post Malone’s epic Nirvana tribute set, livestreamed during the early days of the pandemic in April 2020, is getting a vinyl release for Record Store Day 2025.
Marking the first-ever commercial release of Posty’s performance, the limited-edition vinyl pressing also comes with a meaningful purpose: 100% of net proceeds will be donated to MusiCares’ Addiction Recovery/Mental Health division.
Post Malone’s 14-song Nirvana tribute performance was recorded at his home in Salt Lake City with the backing of Travis Barker on drums, Brian Lee on bass, and Nick Mac on guitar. The setlist featured a wide-range of covers, from “Frances Farmer Will Have Her Revenge on Seattle” and “Lounge Act” to “On A Plain” to “Heart-Shaped Box.”
As if releasing his Nirvana tribute on vinyl wasn’t enough, Post Malone is taking his love for records even further— as previously reported, he’s been named Record Store Day’s 2025 Ambassador. “Record Store Day is so important, and I really hope to do my part to keep it alive,” he said in a statement. “We love hitting local shops when we’re on the road, seeing all the crazy artwork, the whole energy in a record store is just super inspiring. I feel at home.”
Record Store Day 2025 takes place on Saturday, April 12th. A day later, Post Malone will headline the first weekend of Coachella, kicking off his “Big Ass Stadium Tour.” Get tickets to his upcoming shows here.
