Belgian noise-punk outfit Marcel returns with ‘Task-Force Diane,’ a fiery and theatrical dive into melodic post-punk.

Blending flamenco-tinged riffs with raw noise-rock influences reminiscent of Manitas de Plata and Sonic Youth, ‘Task-Force Diane’ is a whirlwind of sound and symbolism. The song delves into themes of fire, destruction, and passion, reflecting Marcel’s continued fascination with human extremes. Accompanying the track is an animated video, directed by Simon & Vincent Lynen (of Frankie and the L.I.A.R. Ensemble), which reinterprets lyrics by Amaury Louis through a modern, absurdist lens. Inspired by the lives of medieval beguines, the narrative follows Diane, a corporate headhunter trapped in a surreal office world where workers drown in their tears and burnout is near-divine martyrdom.

With ‘Task-Force Diane,’ Marcel crafts a sharp, chaotic, yet eerily relatable critique of modern work culture through their signature blend of noise and melody.
