DAVID “Ace” Cannon, known for being a beloved radio show co-host, passed away aged 56 on Tuesday February 4, 2025.

The couple tied the knot four years after meeting with Amanda describing their romance as “love at first sight”.
After divorcing his first wife, Shonnette, the Ace & TJ Show host pledged to never marry again.
Who is David’s wife Amanda?
Amanda is a personal trainer from Moresville, North Carolina.
The pair met in the summer of 2017 after Amanda’s wedding to her college sweetheart was called off.
According to an interview in February 2023, Amanda approached him at a bar and they instantly hit it off.
The pair have since joked about how they have been mistaken for being father and daughter.
When did the pair make it official?
In February 2020, Ace proposed to Amanda in a restaurant outside Brooklyn Bridge, New York City, after playing a song he had written to her.
She was 24 years his junior and the couple officially tied the knot in 2021.
David originally thought he would never re-marry after divorcing his first wife and Amanda faced backlash for being an alleged “gold-digger”.
He had his vasectomy reversed so the pair could have a baby together.
In June 2023, the couple welcomed their baby son.
Who was David “Ace” Cannon?
David Cannon spent more than a quarter-century on one of Charlotte’s most popular radio morning shows.
The Ace & TJ presenter was mainly heard by those in Southern state.
Ritchie “TJ” Beams was the other half of the show which begun broadcasting in Louisiana back in 1998.
The show transitioned across stations but most recently was on 104.7.
Ace and TJ met in 1991 at KQID Alexandria LA.
The official account of The TJ & Riggings show wrote on Facebook: “Our prayers are with our brother. We are devastated by the news… We love you, Ace.”
Other tributes quickly flowed in with David’s sister also confirming the tragic news.
Piper shared on social media: “For those of you that did not know. I have suffered a great loss today, my brother David Ace Cannon, has passed away.”
The cause of death has not yet been disclosed.
How many children did David Cannon have?
David had three children including two sons, Cade and Dax.
His late daughter Payton tragically died aged 21 in a car crash.
David was part of the non-profit, Payton’s Promise, that was set up in honor of her.
In an interview just days after the loss, David said: “I don’t have the capacity – and I talk for a living – to explain to people how broken my heart is.”
