She’s back and better than ever. Or worse than ever. Opinions will vary depending on whether our favorite killer robot has you in her sights or not when M3GAN returns to the big screen. But don’t worry about this latest iteration of the mechanical murderer. The first teaser trailer for M3GAN 2.0 makes clear she still loves to dance. Only this time she’s going to have an enemy who might be able to best both her moves and her killing.

Welcome back, stylish killer robot! And welcome back those iconic dance moves! They’re on full display in this official teaser. But while this promo doesn’t reveal much about what to expect from the sequel, the official synopsis certainly does. It reveals we’re going to get more than one M3GAN. From Universal Pictures:

Two years after M3GAN, a marvel of artificial intelligence, went rogue and embarked on a murderous (and impeccably choreographed) rampage and was subsequently destroyed, M3GAN’s creator Gemma has become a high-profile author and advocate for government oversight of A.I. Meanwhile, Gemma’s niece Cady, now 14, has become a teenager, rebelling against Gemma’s overprotective rules. Unbeknownst to them, the underlying tech for M3GAN has been stolen and misused by a powerful defense contractor to create a military-grade weapon known as Amelia the ultimate killer infiltration spy. But as Amelia’s self-awareness increases, she becomes decidedly less interested in taking orders from humans. Or in keeping them around. With the future of human existence on the line, Gemma realizes that the only option is to resurrect M3GAN and give her a few upgrades, making her faster, stronger, and more lethal. As their paths collide, the original A.I bitch is about to meet her match.

Allison Williams and Violet McGraw are also back as Gemma and Cady. Jenna Davis will once again voice that dashing diabolical robot. Brian Jordan Alvarez and Jen Van Epps will also reprise their roles as Gemma’s tech teammates, Cole and Tess. Meanwhile, Ivanna Sakhno (Ahsoka) will play Amelia. And Aristotle Athari (Hacks), Timm Sharp (Percy Jackson and the Olympians), and Jemaine Clement (Flight of the Conchords) are also joining the franchise.

M3GAN 2.0, directed by Gerard Johnstone, will groove its way into theaters June 27, 2025. Who survives her AI showdown is unknown, but we don’t care what kind of moves Amelia has. We’ll never bet against our murderer dancing queen.
