Nirvana staged a surprise reunion at the FireAid benefit concert in L.A. last night (January 30) with the band’s surviving members joined by a series of guest vocalists.
Whilst not featured on the official line-up, the musicians came together towards the end of the evening’s performance in support of L.A. wildfire relief.
With Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear reunited, they recruited the voices of some of rock’s most iconic female vocalists – including St. Vincent, Kim Gordon and Joan Jett (all of whom also performed with the band during their 2014 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame).
Rounding out their set with an emotional rendition of ‘All Apologies’, they were also joined onstage by Violet Grohl – the 18-year-old daughter of the Nirvana drummer.
