Billie Eilish Joins Green Day at FireAid: Watch

Green Day kicked off the FireAid Benefit Concert with a performance of their 2009 song, “Last Night on Earth,” joined by special guest Billie Eilish.

Eilish’s fellow Billie (Jo Armstrong) carried the first portion of the song, delivering its apt lyrics for the occasion — like, “If I lose everything in the fire/ I’m sending all my love to you” — as bandmates Mike Dirnt and Tré Cool, and a number of auxiliary musicians, provided the ballad’s steady-moving arrangement.

Then, for the second verse, Eilish hit the stage, prompting enthusiastic applause from the audience at the Kia Forum. Standing alongside Armstrong, she beautifully crooned her portion, and for the final chorus, the two sang together in harmony. Afterwards, they embraced for a hug.

Later in the evening, Eilish will head over to the Intuit Dome for a performance of her own at the second of FireAid’s two shows.

FireAid was organized in response to the devastating wildfires that hit Los Angeles earlier this month. All proceeds will be directed to short-term relief efforts and long-term initiatives to prevent future fire disasters.

Other performers across the concert’s two venues include Lady Gaga, Olivia Rodrigo, Joni Mitchell, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Stevie Nicks, Jelly Roll, P!NK, Sting, Stephen Stills, John Mayer, Earth, Wind, & Fire, Lil Baby, Gracie Abrams, Tate McRae, Katy Perry, Rod Stewart, and more.
