Cinemark theaters recently ran ‘bring your own popcorn bucket’ promotion that quite literally everyone involved seemed to enjoy. The massive theater chain almost certainly anticipated some people to show up with strange receptacles for their popcorn but the turnout was unprecedented.

Cinemark’s ‘bring your own popcorn bucket’ promo ran on Sunday the 19th and photos started to hit X (née Twitter) later in the day through yesterday. People were quick to share the funniest ‘buckets’ they saw others bringing in.

These so-called ‘popcorn buckets’ included a basketball cut in half, a bedside table/drawer, a literal funeral urn, and more. Here are some of the best items we saw from the Cinemark BYO Popcorn Bucket day:

Only $5 to fill up a funeral urn reserved for ashes with delicious buttery popcorn! What a steal.

Going with the large plastic bins is a solid choice but honestly, I don’t want to be looking at how much salt and butter collects at the bottom. Bro brought out his own mini-popcorn replica to hold his $5 popcorn. According to Cinemark, the stipulation was the BYO popcorn bucket could only be “up to 400oz (2 XL popcorns)” and would be filled for $5.

There were a lot of people who brought out pickle barrels (plastic buckets). That’s pretty brilliant given the size and shape because it comes with a handle. There are a lot of pics out there of these buckets but weirdly I didn’t see a single YETI bucket… However, there was this:

By all measurements this Cinemark BYO popcorn bucket promo was a success. It would be awesome to see them roll this out more frequently.
