The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) says the upcoming NAMM Show 2025 is slated to go forward as planned on January 21-25. Supporting organization The NAMM Foundation has established a wildfire relief fund for the LA Wildfires—seeding it with $50,000 in contributions and seeking more.
Organizers have told attendees they are closely monitoring the situation. Anaheim is located 60 miles southeast of the wildfires and is unaffected. Both LAX and the Orange County airports are fully operational. “NAMM will continue to monitor the situation daily as the winds calm down and fires are contained. We will communicate any further information as it’s available leading up to the 2025 show,” the statement reads.
NAMM says it is committed to supporting the needs of its members and partners in LA during the unprecedented tragedy. The NAMM Foundation has created the 2025 LA Wildfires Relief Fund and has committed $50,000 to relief efforts. They are currently accepting additional contributions from others in response to the devastating impact on NAMM members, music programs, music professionals, and others impacted by the fire.
Needs-based assistance will be provided to NAMM members, employees of NAMM member companies, music education programs, and music makers affected by the January 2025 fires. The NAMM Foundation is currently performing a needs based assessment and will provide more information soon on the distribution of and application process for funds obtained through the relief effort drive.
We know the road to recovery will be long for the communities affected. NAMM and The NAMM Foundation are committed to supporting the needs of our members and partners in LA through this unprecedented tragedy,” says NAMM CEO John Mlynczak.
Los Angeles County Sheriff Roberta Luna has reported that 24 people have died so far. Search and rescue and recovery operations are underway, but Santa Ana winds are expected to persist throughout the next three days. The wildfires have destroyed more than 40,000 acres with the largest Palisades Fire only 13% contained at the time of writing.
