Entourage creator Doug Ellin just gave the world its first look at the newest creation that he’s been cooking up in the kitchen: Ramble On. The first Ramble On trailer dropped today and Entourage fans will notice many familiar faces like Kevin Connolly who played Eric, Kevin Dillon who played Johnny Drama, Jamie Lynn-Sigler who had a romance with Turtle, as well as other household names like Charlie Sheen.
The premise of Ramble On, according to its IMDB profile, is the show “follows established stars looking to reinvent their careers, and also aspiring performers looking to make their own name.” Kevin Connolly appears to be a sort of down-and-out actor, one forgotten by the industry, looking to get back in the game.
Entourage fans will be quick to notice a similar cadence to Doug Ellin’s previous show with lots of dialog as the actors are on the move and how the show appears to capture the essence of studio life in Hollywood and how the minutiae of acting/producing can fill an entire episode. Check it out:

If that video from X isn’t working, the Ramble On trailer can also be seen here on the show’s website.
My first takeaway was that Mark Cuban appears to always be working. That man never has a day off where he’s just chilling in front of the TV with a hangover. He’s either building a new company, appearing on screen in Ramble On and previously Doug Ellin‘s Entourage, at a game, working to build a casino empire, on Shark Tank, and the list goes on and on.
My second takeaway is the Ramble On trailer appears to capture some of the original Entourage magic while opening the door to be its own entity. I will reserve judgment on the actual quality of the show until it gets picked up and I’m able to watch a few episodes. But as someone of the age where Entourage at its peak was my #1 TV show at one point in life, this feels like equal parts nostalgia and a new chapter now that we’re all 20 years older from when Entourage first debuted on HBO.
That said, there has been some strong criticism so far on X (formerly Twitter) after the Ramble On trailer dropped. Creator Doug Ellin has been addressing some criticism head on. He had a scorching reply to someone saying it looks horrible which you can see here/I can’t post because of the language, but it’s nice to see Ellin is fired up about this show.
