The cast of Apple TV’s Yo Gabba GabbaLand! linked up with Thundercat to transform the NPR office into a colorful, kid-friendly world. Watch their edition of NPR’s long-running Tiny Desk Concert series below.
Featuring Kammy Kam (Kamryn Smith), Muno (Adam Deibert), Brobee (Amos Watene), Foofa (Emma Penrose), and Toodee (Erin Pierce), the gang bops and hops their way through “We’re in Yo Gabba GabbaLand!,” “Hold Still,” and “I’m So Mad (Just Breathe).” They then invite bass extraordinaire (the 32nd best bassist of all time, to be exact) Thundercat to play “The Orange Cat’s Special Time Outdoors” and “Party in My Tummy.”
“Tiny Desk is basically hallowed ground at this point,” GabbaLand! co-creator Scott Schultz said in a statement. “Just to be asked was a huge honor for us. We’re incredibly grateful to the NPR Music team and, of course, our friend Thundercat. We were so happy to bring the Gabba magic to the iconic series and can’t wait for our fans of all ages to share in our joy!”
A reboot of the original series that ran from 2007 to 2015, Yo Gabba GabbaLand! premiered its first season this year on Apple TV+. It featured a host of notable musical guest stars, including Flea, Anderson .Paak, Kurt Vile, Thundercat (of course), and others. Check out the series here.
