For those who don’t remember, Smith starred in “The Karate Kid,” a very successful film released in 2010. He played the role of Dre Parker, a 12-year-old boy who turns to karate and to his mentor (played by Chang) to deal with some of the struggles he faced in his everyday life.

While the trailer of “Karate Kid: Legends” seems to focus on a new young character, viewers on social media began speculating on Smith and whether or not he’d be featured in the film.

“I still hope there’s a Jaden Smith cameo,” wrote a viewer.

“You know the internet loves to rag on Jaden Smith, but one thing we will all always agree on is that he was an amazing Karate Kid and we all want to see him in the role again,” wrote a second person.

“If jaden smith and the kids from the show pull at the end the karate kid extended universe gonna be insane,” theorized a fan.
