Apple names the 17 2024 App Store Award winners, with music AI app Moises securing the title of iPad App of the Year.

Less than a month after Apple revealed the 45 finalists in its 2024 App Store Awards, the company has unveiled the 17 winners. These include the best apps and games for iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Apple TV, and the Apple Vision Pro.

Notably, the music AI app Moises took home the crown for iPad App of the Year. Moises is known (and named) for its ability to separate sounds on a track with ease for musicians and producers alike. Moises can either record sessions within the app, or users can upload files into the app to have its AI models split instruments, including vocals, on a given track. It can also automatically add an approximately timed metronome, change the song’s key, and much more.

Even in instances where a user doesn’t themselves sing or play an instrument, the app is fun to play with, on as little as a 13-inch iPad using the built-in microphone. A future update will include further generative AI functionality, enabling Moises to automatically play on a track, much like a session musician.
