THE REAL Housewives of Salt Lake City alum Monica Garcia has been sued and accused of not making payments on her leased car.
According to court documents exclusively obtained by The U.S. Sun, RHOSLC’s fired Monica, 40, was slapped with a lawsuit on November 23, 2024, by APG Financial, Inc. over the lease of her 2018 Cadillac XT5.
The former housewife allegedly signed a lease agreement with APG Financial on July 22, 2023, in which she promised to pay $473.95 every two weeks.
According to the lawsuit, Monica “defaulted under the Lease Agreement by failing to make the monthly payments as required under the Lease Agreement, and causing the early termination of the Lease Agreement.”
She also “caused physical damage and excessive wear and tear to the Vehicle,” and, per the agreement, Monica is now responsible for the “repair and reconditioning expenses.”
APG Financial is suing her for a total of $9,322.87.
The breakdown is as follows: $1,511.85 in missed lease payments and late fees, an early termination fee of $3,338.70, repair and reconditioning costs in the amount of $3,972.32, and repossession costs in the amount of $500.
In addition, the financial institution is charging Monica interest on the balance at 18 percent per year until it’s paid in full.
Plus, APG is seeking an award for $350 in attorney fees.
Monica has yet to file her response to the lawsuit.
The U.S. Sun reached out to Monica’s attorney for comment.
CAR CHAOS
The mother-of-four has made headlines over the vehicles she had in the past, including her 2017 Range Rover featured on the show.
In season 4, Monica and her mom, Linda, feuded over the Range Rover when the reality star’s car was taken away from her by her mom, leaving her carless.
Linda claimed to have bought the Range Rover with her credit and used it as leverage over her daughter.
She eventually returned the car by showing up to Monica’s house unannounced, calling it a “peace offering” but it didn’t make their relationship any better.
The vehicle was listed for sale for $41,200 earlier this year as announced by Linda on Twitter.
In March 2024, Monica announced on Instagram that she had purchased a new BMW with her earnings from Cameo.
It’s unclear if this is when she decided to terminate the lease on her Cadillac since a termination date was not included in the complaint.
Monica wrote in the caption of a March 26 post, “Me: Driving my brand new car with the money that Cameo helped pay for. Stay mad.”
In a second post, the ex-housewife took aim at her mom, writing, “Now someone ask LD if she’s been able to sell my Range yet.”
LEGAL BATTLE WITH CO-STAR
The RHOSLC alum is involved in another lawsuit with her former friend and co-star, Heather Gay.
Last month, The U.S. Sun exclusively reported that Monica was ordered to pay over $35k to Heather’s company Beauty Lab and Laser after a Utah judge sided with the medical spa.
Beauty Lab initially sued Monica in August 2023 for $2,000 for allegedly not paying for beauty services, which Monica claimed were “botched” injections.
The judgment total was $35,853.60, which included the $2,000, a $15 late fee, costs and fees of $604.98 associated with the lawsuit, attorney’s fees totaling $31,550, plus prejudgment interest at 18 percent per year, totaling $1,683.62.
A few weeks later, Monica filed a Notice of Appeal to appeal the judgment on November 18, arguing the attorney’s fees.
In response to the appeal filing, Monica’s attorney told The U.S. Sun, “We are still confident of the result.”
FIRED BY BRAVO
Monica made her debut as a cast member on RHOSLC when season four premiered in September 2023.
After an explosive season finale, she was outed by the group for running the Instagram gossip account Reality Von Tease, and she was sent home in Bermuda, being labeled a “villain.”
Monica was fired and did not return to season 5, which premiered in September 2024.
The current cast includes Lisa Barlow, Mary Cosby, Heather Gay, Angie Katsanevas, Meredith Marks and Whitney Rose, along with newbies Bronwyn Newport, Britani Bateman and Meili Workman.
Housewives’ executive producer Andy Cohen recently told Deadline that there isn’t talk of Monica returning to the show for season 6 just yet.
“I’m a big Monica fan, but I think that’s kind of a conversation for the future,” he said.
“We’re in the middle of an incredibly successful season right now, and I wouldn’t want to take away from the great work these women have done who are on the cast by speculating.”
