Oscars Will Stream Live On Hulu For First Time

And the 2025 streaming Oscar goes to … Hulu.

ABC said today that the Academy Awards will stream live for the first time on its Disney sibling Hulu. That’s along with the 97th annual Oscarcast airing live coast-to-coast on the broadcast network for a 50th consecutive year, starting at 4 p.m. PT/7 p.m. ET on Sunday, March 2, from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. The Oscars also will be available to stream on Hulu the next day.

The 2024-25 Oscars shortlist will be revealed December 17, followed by the nominations on January 17. Conan O’Brien is making his Academy Awards hosting debut, working solo. It was a bit of a surprise choice since his name hadn’t been prominently mentioned as a possible Oscar host this year. Jimmy Kimmel hosted the 2024 ceremony, his second in a row, but passed on a returning for a sixth go-round this year.
