Beatriz Haddad Maia is sharing a behind-the-scenes look at the Asics lab – in her workout gear. In a new social media post the tennis star looks sensational in a two-piece exercise set. “It was a great pleasure to visit the Asics laboratory in Kobe, Japan. It was incredible to see up close the level of professionalism and excellence behind each material developed. I thank everyone for the warm welcome. Let’s go! 🐾🎾,” she wrote in the Instagram caption. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.
When she isn’t on the court, you can find Beatriz hiking. According to the National Parks Service, the physical benefits of hiking include:
- Building stronger muscles and bones
- Improving your sense of balance
- Improving your heart health
- Decreasing the risk of certain respiratory problems
Beatriz stretches before and after her workouts. “Stretching keeps the muscles flexible, strong, and healthy, and we need that flexibility to maintain a range of motion in the joints,” says Harvard Health. “Without it, the muscles shorten and become tight. Then, when you call on the muscles for activity, they are weak and unable to extend all the way. That puts you at risk for joint pain, strains, and muscle damage.”
Beatriz has approached her tennis career one step at a time. “At each stage, I consolidated myself, and I started to feel confident about moving up to the next stage,” Haddad Maia tells GQ Brazil. “I never wanted to skip over barriers.”
To get her body ready for the tennis court, Beatriz spends a lot of time doing strength training workouts. A few of her go-to exercises? Weight lifting, squats, and lunges. According to the Mayo Clinic, strength and weight training help reduce body fat, preserve and increase lean muscle mass, and burn calories more efficiently. Strength training may also help you:
- Develop strong bones
- Manage your weight
- Enhance your quality of life
- Manage chronic conditions
- Sharpen your thinking skills
Beatriz’s main form of fitness is tennis. According to ACE Fitness it blends together cardio and aerobic exercise, as there is a lot of running around, and hand-eye coordination. “While tennis provides numerous health benefits—improved aerobic fitness and anaerobic endurance, muscular fitness (grip strength and endurance), flexibility, multiple skill parameters (balance, speed, agility and quickness), reactivity, and power—it also is psychologically demanding,” they say.
