General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that there’s some huge news to report following Chad Duell’s (Michael Corinthos) recent Instagram announcement. Duell is OUT at GH, so he’s leaving the role of Michael Corinthos behind.
According to Duell’s statement, this is his choice. After much soul-searching, Duell is ready to move on from the ABC soap – though he’s certainly grateful for the memories he made there.
Chad Duell put up a heartfelt post on November 23 to explain what he’s decided, so let’s take a look at what he had to say.
“After many incredible years with General Hospital, I’ve decided to step away from the show.
This wasn’t an easy decision for me, but it feels like the right time in my life,” Duell admitted.
However, Duell expressed how thankful he was for his time on GH and gave a shoutout to all the people there who made his experience special.
“I’m beyond grateful to Frank Valentini, the cast, crew, and everyone behind the scenes who have been like family to me throughout this amazing journey,” Duell said.
Of course, Duell also wanted to thank the fans who showed him love over the years.
Soap viewers are definitely a supportive bunch, so Duell is leaving with a full heart.
“To all the fans: thank you from the bottom of my heart for your unwavering support and for letting Michael Corinthos be a part of your lives.
Your love and encouragement has meant the world to me,” Duell added.
As Duell wrapped up his departure announcement, he offered some hope that this might just be a farewell for now.
“This isn’t a goodbye—it’s a see you later. Much love, Chad,” Duell said as he concluded his post.
That potentially leaves the door open for Duell to return somewhere down the line, but we’ll just have to see how the show handles his exit.
It’ll be interesting to see if GH recasts or writes Michael out entirely now that Duell is stepping away.
