All eyes were on Cynthia Erivo who caused a scene in green alongside co-star Ariana Grande at the star-studded Wicked premiere that brought out Karrueche, Normani, Jennifer Lopez, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Victoria Monét, and more to Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in La La Land.

Styled by fashion visionary Jason Bolden, Erivo stunned in a green vinyl Louis Vuitton gown with a feathered stole that matched the boundless energy of her character in the film.

“The LA carpet [look] for me is a such a wow factor—the color, the fabric,” Erivo told VOGUE about the eye-catching look. “It just feels electric—[it lets] my character truly own the color green in such big, bold way!”

“My stylist Jason had an idea about asking Louis Vuitton about vinyl, which normally isn’t the first go-to when it comes to a carpet,” she continued. “I thought the fabric choice was strong and divine, which is how I see my character. We’ve also worked with LV on a vinyl look before that created a wow factor, so I guess we wanted to try our hand at that again and see what the reaction would be this time.”

Based on the best-selling novel by Gregory Maguire, Wicked is the long-awaited movie adaption of the beloved Broadway musical that tells the story of witches of Oz Elphaba (Erivo)–a young woman misunderstood because of her unusual green skin who has yet to discover her true power and Glinda (Ariana Grande)–a privileged and ambitious woman who has yet to discover her true heart.

Together, they forge an unlikely yet profound friendship that comes to a crossroads after an encounter with The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Jon M. Chu (Crazy Rich Asians), Wicked is the first chapter of a two-part cultural celebration that also stars Oscar-winner Michelle Yeoh, Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, Marissa Bode, and Jeff Goldblum.

“It’s been really beautiful to be able to be with fans and watch their reaction to the film,” said Erivo about the epic press tour.

“It’s felt like our little secret for so long, so to be able to share it with the world finally feels like a massive relief. There’s been such wonderful feedback to the film—and there also seems to be a really emotional reaction to the film as a whole, which is more than we could ever wish for.”

Wicked casts its spell in theaters Nov. 22, 2024 and continues with Pt. 2 on Nov. 26, 2025.
