Paramount Pictures has released the first official trailer for Mission: Impossible—The Final Reckoning, a sequel to 2023’s Mission: Impossible—Dead Reckoning.

Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning — directed by Christopher McQuarrie, who has helmed every Mission: Impossible film since 2015’s Rogue Nation — will be released in movie theaters in the United States on Friday, May 23, 2025.

Check out the first official teaser trailer for Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning — which has the tagline of “Our lives are the sum of our choices — below.

Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning will star Tom Cruise, Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Vanessa Kirby, Esai Morales, Pom Klementieff, Henry Czerny, and Shea Whigham, who all reprise their roles from the previous film. Additional new cast members include Holt McCallany, Nick Offerman, Charles Parnell, Katy O’Brian, Hannah Waddingham, and more.

Since the franchise was taken over by writer/director Christopher McQuarrie in 2015, it’s become one of the most consistently excellent blockbuster series in Hollywood, as each of the last three films — Rogue Nation, 2018’s Fallout, and 2023’s Dead Reckoning — each have at least a 94% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes.

The Mission: Impossible film franchise  — based on the TV series of the same name — first began in 1996 with the original movie that was written by David Koepp (Jurassic Park, Spider-Man, War of the Worlds) and Robert Towne (Chinatown, Days of Thunder, The Firm), and directed by acclaimed filmmaker Brian De Palma, known for his films Carrie, Scarface, The Untouchables, Carlito’s Way, and more.

All seven of the previous Mission: Impossible films are currently streaming on Paramount+.
