Julian Casablancas and his band The Voidz stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday (October 23rd) to perform “Square Wave” and “7 Horses,” two songs from their new album Like All Before You. Watch the performances below.
Looking as Voidz-y as ever, Casablancas strutted around the stage in a leather vest and a singular glove while he bathed himself in Auto-Tune. His bandmates matched his energy while wearing capes, rocking studded jackets, and donning Flying V guitars. The stage was decked out with barbed wire, barrels oozing green goop, and an oversized armadillo (?). Oh, to peer into the mind of Casablancas…
Prior to The Voidz taking the stage, Casablancas and Fallon sat down to talk about the time the latter’s band opened for The Strokes, the backstory of Casablancas’ feature on Charli XCX’s “Mean girls” remix, and the writing of Like All Before You. Check out the interview below.
Like All Before You marked The Voidz’s first new album in six years. The physical release of the record arrives on November 1st (pre-orders are ongoing). Neither The Voidz nor The Strokes currently have any tour dates lined up at the moment.
