Chelsey Novak is going brunette – in her exercise clothes. In a new social media post the fitness model flaunts her strong arms in a workout top while revealing her hair transformation, saying “goodbye” to blonde and “hello” to brunette. She shared the image via her Instagram Stories. How does she approach diet, fitness, and self-care? Here is everything you need to know about her lifestyle habits.
Chelsey wasn’t always a fitness model. “Growing up I was never athletic and I wasn’t in shape. I started working out because I would see these hot chicks on the cover of magazines and I wanted to look exactly like them. After getting familiar with workouts and seeing my body change, it became an addiction,” she told Muscle Prodigy.
Chelsey enjoys the perks of caffeine. In fact, she maintains that her morning cup of Joe helps her get to the gym. ” like working out early in the morning because that’s when I have the most energy. Thank you coffee! I’m a morning person so ideally I love getting everything done before noon,” she says. According to the Cleveland Clinic, there are several benefits of drinking coffee in moderation. “It acts on your brain to improve memory, mood, reaction times, and mental function,” they say, citing a study finding that caffeine can improve endurance and performance during exercise. It is also antioxidant-rich, can ward off diabetes, prevent neurologic disease, lower cancer risk, and ward off depression, they point out.
Chelsey revealed her top three exercises to Muscle Prodigy. “Squats because not only do they make your glutes toned but they can actually help you improve both your upper and lower body strength. It’s basically working out your entire body,” she says. “Planks because some ab exercises only target a certain area but with planks it hits your entire core.” And her third tot0 exercise? Burpees. “This exercise is very simple but yet a tough one. I love this exercise because it’s a cardio workout and it tones your whole body as well,” she says.
When it comes to diet, Novak keeps things simple. “To be honest, I love plain foods. All I need is mustard and I’m good to go. I pretty much eat the same foods everyday which is my lean proteins, complex carbs, and veggies. When I crave something sweet I usually snack on fruits such as apples or watermelons,” she says.
Chelsey also stays fit with the help of outdoor activities. “I’m from Miami so it’s always sunny here, therefore I love the outdoors! Roller blading, going to the beach, and jetskiing are my weekend adventures. In addition, I love baking desserts!” she says. According to Health Fitness Revolution, the average 150-pound rider will burn a surprising 238 calories during a half-hour ride. The sport is also great for cardiovascular endurance.
