UPDATE: multi-time winner Travis Gienger has done it again with a 2,471 pound pumpkin to take the lead by just 6 pounds!
The annual Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Weigh-Off is back and with the final weighing taking place as I write this. Last year was a record-setting year with winner Travis Gienger of Anoka, Minnesota setting a new world record with his 2,749-pound pumpkin which was later named ‘Michael Jordan’ in honor of the GOAT.
This year’s Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Weigh-Off is currently being live streamed across multiple networks. San Francisco’s KTVU has the action live on their YouTube channel as we speak:
Look at these incredible big bois posted up in the beds of these trucks looking as magnificent as ever:

With only last year’s winner, Travis Gienger, left to go, there have been some massive pumpkins weighed at this year’s competition. Already, three pumpkins weighing over 2,000 pounds have been weighed. L. Urena weighed a pumpkin totaling 2,390 pounds. S. Daletas put a 2,387 pound pumpkin on the scale. And competitor B. Dawson from Santa Rosa came in hot with a pumpkin weighing 2,465.
Now all that is left is for last year’s winner, Travis Gienger, to bring his massive gourd to the scales and they will be able to declare a winner of the 2024 Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Weigh-Off. In most years, they like to save the best for last and this year seems to follow that pattern…
There have been some truly gargantuan pumpkins weighed in recent years at the Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Weigh-Off. In 2022, the winner brought a 2,560-pound pumpkin to the scales that blew everyone away. Travis also won that year, by the way. It’s safe to say that he is the PumpKing at this point.
