As It Is have shared the ‘okay.’ era tracks from their special compilation release, ‘A Decade Uneventful: B-Sides & Rarities (2012 – 2022)’.
After much speculation and teasing on social media, the band recently announced they had reunited, with former members Ben Biss, Patrick Foley and Alistair Testo returning to the lineup alongside frontman Patty Walters.
They followed up their big reunion news with the announcement of the forthcoming compilation project, which is set for release November 20 via Slam Dunk Records.
Speaking about the addition of the tracks from their sophomore album ‘okay’, the band have said:
“As we continue our journey back in time, part two of the rarities is focused on the ‘Okay’ era. That record was our fork-in-the-road album that opened many doors for us.
“‘Okay’ was the first record where we had written more songs than we needed going into the studio, and we’re excited to finally share some of those that didn’t make it with everyone, as well as alternate versions of familiar favourites!
“Looking back on the summer of 2016 writing and recording that record out in LA, the band was struggling, and ‘Okay’ definitely captures that, it was about masking all the negatives with a positive facade – and I think these raw and unfiltered songs that we’ve put on this rarities collection give a deeper dive into where the band was at during that period.”
And as another grounds for celebration in the As It Is camp, the band were recently announced as Rock Sound 25 Icons.
The award celebrates the key artists from Rock Sound’s quarter-of-a-century, and gives us the opportunity to look back over the years via an in-depth interview in a brand-new magazine.
