Iron Maiden launched their Fall North American tour on Friday (October 4th) in Chula Vista, California.
Dubbed “The Future Past Tour,” the trek sees the British metal legends showcasing songs from their most recent album, 2021’s Senjutsu, as well as 1986’s Somewhere in Time.
The band played five songs from each album during the two-hour, 15-song set in San Diego, kicking off the evening with “Caught Somewhere in Time” and “Stranger in a Strange Land” from Somewhere in Time. Maiden then dove into Senjutsu with “The Writing on the Wall,” “Days of Future Past,” and “The Time Machine.”
The setlist was broken up by the occasional non-Senjutsu/Somewhere in Time song, such as “The Prisoner” from The Number of the Beast as well as “Can I Play with Madness” (Seventh Son of a Seventh Son), “Fear of the Dark,” and “Iron Maiden.” For the three-song encore, the band played “Hell on Earth” (Senjutsu) before closing with “The Trooper” and “Wasted Years.”
The North American leg of the tour, featuring support from The HU, rolls on with a Los Angeles date on Tuesday (October 8th). The trek runs through November 17th in San Antonio, Texas, with tickets available here.
This outing will likely be the best time for fans to catch Iron Maiden playing these particular songs. The band recently announced 2025 tour plans, including a legacy setlist that will focus on Maiden’s first nine albums.
