Korn celebrated the 30th anniversary of their self-titled debut album on Saturday (October 5th) with a special concert at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, closing the night with a rendition of “Freak on a Leash” with guest vocals from Amy Lee of Evanescence.
The show fell amidst the band’s North American tour (pick up tickets here), and featured a stacked festival-style bill including Evanescence, current tour support acts Gojira and Spiritbox, Daron Malakian and Scars on Broadway, and Vended.
Korn played a career-spanning 20-song set for their headlining performance and ended the night by inviting Evanescence singer Amy Lee back onstage for a finale of Korn’s most popular song, “Freak on a Leash.”
Lee made her appearance toward the end of the first verse, duetting the lead vocals with frontman Jonathan Davis. In the footage captured by concertgoers, Lee sounds fantastic carrying the higher register melody, and it’s remarkable how well her voice works on the song.
Prior to that, Korn ran through all the fan favorites such as “Blind,” “A.D.I.D.A.S.,” and “Coming Undone.” They also busted out “Helmet in the Bush” for the first time since 2015 and dropped a snippet of Metallica’s “One” into the performance of “Shoots and Ladders” [via Setlist.fm].
Korn’s North American tour with Gojira and Spiritbox continues Tuesday (October 8th) in Portland, Oregon, and runs through October 27th in St. Paul, Minnesota. For more on the tour, check out our coverage of the recent stop in Newark, New Jersey.
