A woman from Italy is making international headlines after capturing a new Guinness World Record for owning the ‘largest tongue circumference’ of any woman on planet earth.
Ambra Collina was announced by GWR as the proud owner of the new world record with a tongue circumference of 13.83 centimeters or 5.44 inches. The Italian snatched the world record from American Jenny DuVander who previously held it and she beat Jenny’s record by a whopping half centimeter.
GWR shared a video of the world’s largest tongue for those who are curious:

As for her inspiration to apply for the new world record, Ambra Collina told GWR “Since I was a child, I have always followed the protagonists of the Guinness World Records books with admiration and it would make me proud to imagine being part of it.”
This is a clear cut case of ‘there’s a world record for everything.’ If you can think of it, there’s a world record for it. That is the only logical explanation for why Guinness is keeping track of tongue circumferences. On the one hand, I’m glad we have a database to track such inane things but on the other hand…why?
