Maya Hawke is back with a new EP, Clipped Wings, arriving this Friday, October 4th. She’s also shared a new song, “Kamikaze Comic,” as well as a slew of 2025 US and UK/EU tour dates.
The Clipped Wings EP follows Hawke’s 2024 album Chaos Angel and serves as a four-track companion to the record. ““I wanted Chaos Angel to be a tight and consistent record,” Hawke said in a statement. “The songs on Clipped Wings were heartbreaking to cut. Some of them I have waited years for you to hear. They are very special to me. Songs about friendship, self actualization, self hatred, and finding balance between what you want and what you want to want.”
To celebrate both Chaos Angel and Clipped Wings, Maya Hawke will be heading out on a 2025 tour of North America and Europe. The North American leg kicks off on March 10th in Seattle; the run continues with shows in Los Angeles, Denver, Chicago, Toronto, Boston, Brooklyn, Washington D.C., and more, concluding on April 6th with a show in Atlanta. Katy Kirby will open each date of her North American tour. The Europe and UK leg will then begin in late June and will run through late July. See the full list of Maya Hawke’s 2025 tour dates below.
Tickets for Maya Hawke’s 2025 tour will first be available for select dates via a Live Nation pre-sale kicking off on Wednesday, October 2nd at 12:00 p.m. local time (use code SETLIST). Fans can also sign-up for an artist pre-sale going down on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. for each date of the tour via Hawke’s website. Afterwards, tickets will go on-sale for the general public on Friday, October 4th at 10:00 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster.
Written alongside her brother Levon, “Kamikaze Comic” is both a brighter turn for Hawke and a lamenting of her own insecurities. “Everything is terrible/ But I know I’m the worst/ Anything you could say about me/ You can trust I thought it first,” she sings buoyantly in the second verse. Meanwhile, Hawke sings the song in a different part of her voice compared to much of her work on Chaos Angel, giving her vocal tone a lighter rasp than usual. Stream “Kamikaze Comic” below.
