Fans of the John Wick franchise have finally been given a concrete update on the Ana de Armas-starring spinoff film that was originally supposed to hit theaters this summer before being delayed to next year.

First, the film’s official title has been confirmed to be From the World of John Wick: Ballerina — a truly ridiculous example of corporate branding synergy. Furthermore, the first teaser for the film was released today ahead of the premiere of the first official trailer on Thursday, September 26.

From the World of John Wick: Ballerina is currently scheduled to be released in movie theaters in the United States on June 6, 2025.

The film, written by John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum and John Wick: Chapter 4 scribe Shay Hatten, is set between the events of those two films and features the ballerina that’s briefly seen in the scene between Keanu Reeves and Anjelica Houston in John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum.

In addition to the Academy Award-nominated Ana de Armas in the lead role of the “Ballerina,” From the World of John Wick: Ballerina is also set to star Keanu Reeves (likely in a cameo or small supporting role — although this is just my speculation), Anjelica Huston, Ian McShane, and the late Lance Reddick, who have all previously starred in the John Wick franchise, alongside new additions Gabriel Byrne, Catalina Sandino Moreno, and Norman Reedus.

From the World of John Wick: Ballerina will be the first film in the franchise not directed by Chad Stahelski as filmmaker Len Wiseman took the reigns on this one. Wiseman’s previous credits include Underworld and its sequel, and 2012’s Total Recall remake.

de Armas will next be seen starring in the Ron Howard film Eden alongside Sydney Sweeney, Vanessa Kirby, Jude Law, and Daniel Bruhl. de Armas, who last starred in the 2023 AppleTV+ action rom-com Ghosted, recently revealed that Eden has a “crazy threesome” romance in it.
