David Gilmour is set to kick off a limited tour of London, Rome, Los Angeles, and New York (get tickets here) later this week in support of his new album, Luck and Strange. As a warm-up, he played a pair of live dress rehearsal shows at Brighton Centre in Brighton, England on Friday (September 20th) and Saturday (September 21st).
During the first concert, Gilmour debuted several songs from the new LP, including “The Piper’s Call,” “Between Two Points,” and “Dark and Velvet Nights.” More than half of the set was made up of classic Pink Floyd material, including many songs he hadn’t played since the mid-2000s.

Besides performing The Dark Side of the Moon song “Breathe (In the Air)” for the first time since 2006, Gilmour dusted off cuts from The Division Bell like “Marooned” and “A Great Day for Freedom” for the first time since 2004 and 2006, respectively. Other Pink Floyd classics included “Wish You Were Here” and the encore, “Comfortably Numb.”
Gilmour played an identical setlist during the second evening, with the addition of bringing out his 22-year-old daughter, Romany Gilmour, for their reimagining of The Montgolfier Brothers’ “Between Two Points.”

The tour will officially begin on Friday, September 27th with a six-night run at Rome’s Circo Massimo, followed by multi-night stands at London’s Royal Albert Hall, Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, and New York City’s Madison Square Garden. See the full schedule below, and get tickets here.
Earlier this month, Gilmour performed his first live show in four years alongside Romany Gilmour at an open mic night. He also popped up on a random Body Count cover of Pink Floyd’s “Comfortably Numb,” released this past Friday.
