The overlap between Travis Kelce and Elon Musk this week isn’t solely reserved to Musk’s bizarre comments about Kelce’s girlfriend Taylor Swift, as the Kansas City Chiefs tight end also happened to poke some fun at Tesla’s Cybertruck during this week’s episode of his New Heights podcast with his brother Jason Kelce.
The Kelce brothers’ comments about Elon Musk’s much-maligned Cybertruck come amid the widespread backlash against the controversial billionaire who fired off an incredibly weird tweet in which he offered to impregnate Taylor Swift.
The tidbit begins with Jason admitting he was nervous to go through a carwash with a Cybertruck due to apparent reports of the vehicle short-circuiting while being cleaned.
“Which, by the way, I was a little nervous [about the Cybertruck], because there’s a lot of stuff out there that the Cybertruck short circuits going through carwashes,” Jason says.
“I don’t read up on the Cybertruck news, why is that?” Travis asked.
“I think it’s just that they didn’t seal something properly. It did rain once and the car door kept opening when I parked it. Until it dried, then it would close again. They had to get these things out there, they had to rush them out.”
“They had to rush them out?!” a bemused Travis responds. “It took them like three extra summers to figure it out”
Now, while the pair clowning on Cybertrucks came amid Musk facing criticism for his ‘creepy’ pregnancy tweet about Taylor Swift, it’s unlikely their comments are in direct response.
Musk tweeted his viral comments about Swift on Tuesday night after the pop star endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris. The Kelce brothers’ New Heights podcast, however, usually records on Tuesdays, which means their Cybertruck clownery would’ve come before Musk’s incel tweet, therefore making the whole thing just a coincidence.
