Eminem Performs "Houdini," "Somebody Save Me" at 2024 VMAs

Eminem opened the 2024 MTV VMAs on Wednesday (September 11th) with a medley performance of “Houdini” and “Somebody Save Me” from his latest album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce).

While walking out on stage, Eminem was flanked by a cadre of copycats similarly dressed in blonde wigs and black t-shirts. Following the spirited performance of “Houdini,” he switched gears to the introspective “Somebody Save Me.” Watch a replay below.

The performance marked Eminem’s return to the VMAs after joining Snoop Dogg onstage in 2022 to play their collaboration “D 2 the LBC.” He’s nominated for eight VMAs this year, including Artist of the Year, Video of the Year, Best Hip-Hop, and Song of the Summer for “Houdini.”

Eminem recently teamed up with LL Cool J for their first-ever collaboration, “Murdergram Deux,” off the latter’s first new album in 11 years, The FORCE. The Detroit rapper is gearing up to release a deluxe “Expanded Mourner’s Edition” of The Death of Slim Shady this Friday, September 13th.
