Corey Taylor, Billy Morrison, Steve Vai: “Incite the Watch”

Corey Taylor, Billy Morrison, and Steve Vai have unveiled an animated music video for their collaborative new single “Incite the Watch.”

The track hails from Morrison’s recent solo album, The Morrison Project, which was released earlier this year and features a stacked list of guest spots from the likes of Ozzy Osbourne, Billy Idol, and more.

Taylor and Vai are among the big names on the album, contributing vocals and guitar, respectively, on “Incite the Watch” — one of the LP’s more experimental tracks. The jumps between muted verses with electronic beats and rousing metal choruses are prime material for the Slipknot frontman, while the virtuosic Vai provides adorning guitar leads.

“Billy and I have known each other for so many years and we’ve done many performances together, it was only a matter of time before we put together something original and fascinating,” Taylor said via a press release. “Alternatively, I’ve been a Steve Vai fan since I was 15, and never thought I’d ever get the chance to do something amazing with him. Enter the great Billy Morrison who got both Steve and I on ‘Incite the Watch!’ I’m so stoked to be a part of this album with so many great artists and I can’t wait to see what happens next.”

Taylor and Vai appear in animated form alongside Morrison in the music video, an illustrated depiction of “flying superhero rockstars fighting against the corporate hordes and freeing music, creativity, and the enslaved masses,” in Morrison’s own words.

Indeed, the musicians form an A-Team-like trio that battles Satanic corporate husks who have taken over the Capitol Records tower. If you’ve ever wanted to see Corey Taylor dual-wield glocks or Steve Vai shoot bullets out of the neck of his guitar, now’s your chance. Director Brett Boggs created the clip using illustrated character animation coupled with the CineTech app for AI-generated backgrounds and visual effects.
