TEEN Mom stars Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra have paid back taxes on their nearly $450,000 Michigan house after the stars’ property was at risk of foreclosure.
Catelynn, 32, and Tyler, 32, listed their former family home for $454,900 in September 2023 and moved into a new house in January 2024.
After months on the market with no takers, a Certificate of Forfeiture of Real Property was filed in March 2024 by the Michigan Register of Deeds.
The home was at risk of foreclosure if the couple did not pay the amount of $5,007.72 in delinquent taxes due on March 31, 2025.
Court papers exclusively obtained by The U.S. Sun reveal the full amount of $5,297 was paid off on August 2.
The U.S. Sun previously broke the news of the foreclosure warning in July 2024, as court documents read, “On March 1, 2024, the following real property was forfeited to the Sanilac County Treasurer for non-payment of property taxes for the year 2022.
“If the 2022 taxes are not paid by March 31, 2025, absolute title to the property and any equity associated with an interest in the property will vest in the foreclosing governmental unit.
“If the property is not redeemed and is foreclosed and sold or transferred, a person with an interest in the property at the time of judgment of foreclosure may claim that person’s interest in any remaining proceeds.”
HOUSE TROUBLES
The couple had trouble selling the home, as it was originally listed for $454,900 in September 2023 before they dropped the price down to $449,900 in December of that same year.
The couple took the home off the market on September 1, 2024.
Catelynn and Tyler purchased the house in May 2017 for $220,000.
The historic house was built in 1869 by Great Lakes Sea Captain George W. Smith.
According to the Realtor listing, the historical integrity of the property has been preserved through the years despite modern updates.
The house sits on 15 acres of land and is known for its unique octagon shape.
MOVING ON?
Catelynn and Tyler now live in a $435,000 four-bedroom, four-bathroom mansion.
According to property records, the house is 4,296 square feet and sits on six acres of land.
The property features a barn, cabin, and pond.
