But who is the daredevil also known as “Smash Stunts” and how did she get into motorcycling?

Who is Ashley Lammela?
Ashley was born on April 13 1994 in Los Angeles.
By the end of her teens, she had never driven a motorbike herself – only ever perching on the back of others’.
Despite not owning a bike, she obsessively watched motorcycling YouTube videos in hopes of learning the basics.
She told her YouTube subscribers in 2022: “I knew [motorbikes] looked super badass and I really wanted to try to learn how to ride one.”
The stunt rider wannabe finally got her first bike at the age of 20, a Kawasaki Ninja 250, and that night practiced for hours in her garage, according to the same YouTube Q&A.
Desperate to learn how to wheelie, she went on to practice five to six days a week in parking lots, eventually mastering the skill within her first three months.
She began her stunt career in 2012 and went full-time two years later.
Now based in both LA and Las Vegas, Ashley can be seen performing stunts and tricks on her Instagram and YouTube pages, riding a variety of bikes – including a 2001 Honda F4i.
She appears to be friends with fellow female stunt rider Robyn Stunts, who has 1.4 million followers on Instagram as of September 2024.
What motorcycle stunts does Ashley Lammela perform?
Ashley’s signature wheelie stunt sees her motorbike practically vertical, with Ashley standing on the seat.
She shared the trick to her Instagram, with followers rushing to the comments to compliment her skills.
One said: “When I tell you I held my breath the whole time lol she’s good.”
Another expressed concern for the stunt rider’s safety, saying: “This is dangerous.”
A similar trick sees the daredevil appear to be surfing on her motorbike, with her two feet planted sideways on the seat, as she wheelies along a major highway.
At times, the bike rotates so far back that its tail scrapes the road.

In the same video, shared to her Instagram, Ashley can also be seen performing another trick in which she kneels on the seat as her bike speeds along.
In another signature move, Ashley places one foot on the seat and the second over the handlebars in a splits-like pose.
The petrolhead’s skills have seen her featured in celebrity music videos, including Iggy Azalea‘s I Am The Strip Club.
