Laurie Anderson — Amelia
The incomparable Laurie Anderson has had the concept for Amelia for nearly two decades: a record fusing oratorio and old-time radio dramas to chart the course of Amelia Earhart’s doomed transatlantic final flight. With Czech orchestra Filharmonie Brno conducted by Dennis Russell Davies behind her and alongside collaborators including Anohni, Gabriel Cabezas, Rob Moose, Marc Ribot, Thony Scheer, and Nadia Sirota, Anderson’s vision is fully, beautifully realized.

LE SSERAFIM — CRAZY
This K-pop quintet is back with its fourth mini-album, just in time to remind us that BRAT summer is not quite over yet. With a handful of club-ready bangers and genre-blending bops, CRAZY is here to expand on the sound LE SSERAFIM established across their previous projects. Mondo Cozmo — It’s PRINCIPLE!
Josh Ostrander returns with his fourth album as Mondo Cozmo, and it’s one of his most earnest, cards-on-the-table works to-date. Inspired by his late dog (and his namesake) Cozmo, the album finds Ostrander untangling knotty questions about life and death with a similarly big, ambitious sound.

Noah Kahan — Live from Fenway
In our Consequence cover story interview, Noah Kahan noted that his 2023 Boston Calling set was the moment he knew he was in for a massive year. Fitting then, that New England native capped his 2024 North American tour with two shows at Fenway Park, which he captured for release as his first-ever live album.

Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds — Wild God
The band’s 18th studio album, and first in five years, contains 10 expansive new tracks from the wonderfully unique artist mind of Nick Cave. The LP has been in the works since New Years Day 2023, and the singles for Wild God have teased something very special from a band known to push limits and embrace experimentation. Cave sat down with Stephen Colbert last week for a vulnerable chat, where he touched on grief, musical inspiration, and the new record.

Oasis — Definitely Maybe (30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition)
It’s a great week to be an Oasis fan. Not only have the group notably reunited for their first live shows back in over 15 years, they’ve done it on a week celebrating the legacy of their beloved 1994 debut album, Definitely Maybe. Tycho — Infinite Health
Seven albums in, Tycho — the project of San Francisco songwriter and producer Scott Hansen — continues to hone a sound entirely his own. Hansen considers Infinite Health as the start of a new era for Tycho, and lead singles “Phantom” and “Green” demonstrate the artist’s range and inimitable sound.

Valley – Water the Flowers, Pray for a Garden
Alt-pop act Valley are approaching a decade together as a band, and they’re marking the occasion with a new album. Water the Flowers, Pray for a Garden began with an old demo before, appropriately, blossoming into the starting point for Valley’s next chapter — 12 dreamy, breezy new tracks for these dog days of summer. Why Bonnie — Wish on the Bone
Led fearlessly by singer and songwriter Blair Howerton, Why Bonnie’s sophomore LP doesn’t shy away from exploring the debilitating, individuality-crushing force of capitalism. Wunderhorse — Midas
The British rockers have pushed themselves on their second album, seeking a sound that’s more raw and vibrant than their 2022 debut Cub. “We wanted it to sound like your face is pressed up against the amplifiers, like you’ve been locked inside the bass drum,” says frontman Jacob Slater — an apt summation of Midas‘ riveting sonics.

Yannis & the Yaw — Lagos Paris London ft. Tony Allen EP
Foals frontman Yannis Philippakis began collaborating with Nigerian drummer and afrobeats pioneer Tony Allen in 2016. After Allen passed in April 2020, Philippakis became determined to finish the collaborative record they were working on. Eight years later, the Lagos Paris London ft. Tony Allen EP is finally here, serving as a showcase of both musician’s rhythmic forces.
