ACTRESS Mae Whitman has announced that she has given birth to her first son, Miles.
The Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and Parenthood actress posted the happy news on her Instagram on Wednesday.

Mae, 36, shared a sweet snap of what appeared to be Parenthood co-star Miles Heizer holding her newborn’s little foot.
The tot was wearing green PJs, and Miles appeared to be sitting next to Mae in the closeup photo.
She playfully admitted to fashioning the announcement similarly to Justin and Hailey Bieber’s recent addition in her caption.
“Not to be a Bieber about it but I too just gave birth to our son, Miles,” she wrote.
“From the moment we heard the first tiny sound out of his tiny piggy mouth we were besotted.”
The star then shared the boy was named Miles after co-star and longtime friend.
She and Heizer co-starred in the TV series Parenthood and said she considers him a parent to her bundle of joy.
“He is the kindest, gentlest, smartest, funniest little beebee and he’s our best friend (pretty much exactly like his namesake Uncle Miles @younggoth).”
“We are infinitely grateful he chose us as his parents.”
Mae, who came out as pansexual in 2021, went on to credit the other parties who helped her with her journey.
“Thank you to @kaiserbente and @carynfields and everyone at @moxiebirth and @huntingtonhospital for guiding our little family through all the unexpected twists and turns safely and with love and grace and to everyone in our circle who has shown us such radical generosity and support.
“We love you! We’re so happy!” she closed.
‘CRYING!’
Fans flooded the announcement’s comments section, thrilled for the star moved by the baby name meaning.
“Crying over the name miles,” one comment read. “Congratulations!!!”
“Not crying at all naming him after Miles,” wrote another.
“YOU NAMED HIM MILES,” exclaimed a third.
A fourth penned: “Not me immediately crying because you named him after miles 😭😭😭😭 absolutely beautiful. Congrats!!!”

MAE’S BABY!
Mae announced she was expecting her first child in a Mother’s Day 2024 Instagram post in May.
Despite TV’s Parenthood ending a decade ago, she and her co-stars Lauren Graham and Miles have remained so close that they joined her in the announcement.
She cradled her baby bump alongside her former co-stars Lauren and Miles in her black and white snap.
“Not to make a parenthood episode out of it or anything but!!!” she wrote on May 12.
“Mother’s Day looking a little different this year! 🤰🏼,” she continued.
“Can’t wait to meet you, huge baby kicking my insides to filth! #ruveal.”
She then followed up the picture with three stills from when her Parenthood character Amber was pregnant.
As Mae joked in the caption, art truly does imitate life.
According to People, Whitman’s Parenthood character, Amber Holt, was pregnant during the sixth and final season of the NBC series.
SWEET BOND
Parenthood was an NBC show that ended in 2015 after six seasons.
However, Mae, Miles, and Lauren have proven their close, on-screen bond transcended offscreen.
For Lauren’s birthday in March 2023, Mae showed the Gilmore Girls alum some love with a full Instagram post of photos together.
Meanwhile, Miles is a frequent feature on Mae’s social media.
As she told HuffPost in 2015 after the show’s finale, “We bonded in this way that is so unlike anything I’ve ever experienced.”

Mae was born in Los Angeles, California, on June 9, 1988, and got her start as a child actor.
Her first role was in When a Man Loves a Woman with Meg Ryan.
Following that she starred in movies like One Fine Day (1996), Independence Day (1996), and Hope Floats (1998).
From there, Mae went on to be a regular in coming-of-age movies like Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010), The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012), and The DUFF (2015).
