Two TikTok influencers were caught up with the same guy in November 2023. Now, one is speaking out about how the world hated her for supposedly inserting herself between the other two’s relationship.
In 2023, TikTok influencers Sophia la Corte and Halley Kate were interested in the same guy, Reed Williams.
While Halley was first to publicly date Reed, she claimed he “homie-hopped” to her friend Sophia after their breakup in November of that year.
“You are going to homie-hop not even three weeks later, after our nine-month-long relationship?” she said in a now-deleted TikTok.
Though Halley and Reed got back together after his brief stint with Sophia, Sophia is speaking out nearly a year after their love triangle began.
In a three-part TikTok series titled “how I got canceled by a girl I met three times,” Sophia explained her side of the story.
The woman claimed that she was texted by Halley after her date with Reed in 2023. However, Sophia didn’t respond – prompting Halley to post about her on TikTok, gaining hundreds of thousands of views.
“I’ve met her maybe three times through work,” Sophia said after saying she was “confused” that someone she barely knew (Halley) was upset with her.
“I feel for her. You know, we’ve all been there,” she added as she empathized with Halley. However, things turned for the worse when the influencer posted about Sophia, her friend, essentially stealing her man.
“Never hung out with her one on one, and I didn’t have her number,” Sophia stated in part two of her TikTok series.
Sophia was even more pressed when Halley alleged that they hung out at Halley’s apartment before going to the bar. “I have never been inside her apartment,” she claimed.
Halley even told her TikTok following that Sophia DMed Reed while standing next to her, which Sophia said never happened.
As Sophia continued to play Halley’s old TikToks from 2023 during part three of her story, she read the comments that netizens left about her at the time. “You’re gross,” said one. “You’re not a girl’s girl,” added another.
“I guess the moral of the story is don’t believe everything you hear online. Don’t take hate too seriously, keep your head up,” the TikToker concluded.
At this time of writing, Sophia and Reed are no longer dating and only went out together a total of five times.
