Rare Auction Gives Avicii Fans Chance to Own Legendary DJ's Personal Items

A rare auction of Avicii‘s personal belongings is giving fans a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own a piece of an artist who defined a generation.

The auction comprises 267 items owned by the legendary DJ and electronic dance music producer, who tragically died by suicide at the age of 28 back in 2018. The items include sneakers, clothes, musical instruments and other memorabilia from his personal collection that have been stored in Stockholm for the last six years.

Each item hitting the auction block has been donated by the late “Levels” producer and all proceeds will benefit the Tim Bergling Foundation, a philanthropic organization launched in his name to advocate for the recognition of suicide as a global health crisis.

“Given Tim’s lack of attachment to material things, his family decided that a charity auction is the most natural solution, with the proceeds directed towards The Tim Bergling Foundation,” according to Stockholms Auktionsverk. “This auction will support the Foundation’s work for young people’s mental health and other causes close to Tim’s heart, such as endangered animals, nature, and climate. This way, Tim’s belongings can contribute to the positive change he always sought to inspire.”

The live auction will take place at Nybrogatan 32 in Stockholm and online Tuesday, October 1st at 9am ET (6am PT). The auction will then publish in full on September 6th.

“We are incredibly proud to present this auction,” said Cecilia Gave, CEO of Stockholms Auktionsverk. “Tim Bergling touched countless people worldwide and continues to do so both through his music and the foundation the family has established in his name. It is a true honor to support The Tim Bergling Foundation to help even more children and young people. We have 350 years of experience passing on the artifacts of some of history’s most prominent cultural figures and consider it a privilege.”
