Property records obtained by The Wall Street Journal revealed Ellen and Portia sold the property less than two years after they purchased it for around $70 million.

Records showed that the buyer is an entity tied to Robert, whose net worth is estimated at around $3 billion.

The couple swapped properties with Robert, with record showing they paid him $32 million in June to buy back a Santa Barbara home they previously sold to him earlier this year.

Carpinteria is a coastal town close to Santa Barbara and Montecito that has attracted celebrity homeowners like Yellowstone star Kevin Costner and filmmaker George Lucas in recent years.

The U.S. Sun has reached out to representatives for Ellen, Portia, and Robert for comment.

The Carpinteria estate comprises two lots spanning around 10 acres, complete with an 8,000-square-foot house spread over three floors, a cabana, and a guest cottage.

Other highlights of the luxurious property include a pool house, an art studio, a staff office, and access to a private beach.

The five-bedroom, eight-bathroom Tuscan-style home is tastefully decorated with stone arches, exposed wood beams, marble accents – including a gorgeous kitchen counter top – hardwood floors.

The primary suite reportedly features dual walk-in closets and baths, and opens onto a terrace with a spa.

Ellen DeGeneres announces final stand up tour after show was canceled and says ‘yes I’m going to talk about it’

The sale comes one month after the Emmy winner, who hosted The Ellen DeGeneres Show for 19 years, announced she’s “done” with showbiz as soon as she tapes her Netflix special.

The 66-year-old comedian, who is currently on her Ellen’s Last Stand…Up tour, recently commented on the possibility of an acting comeback during a tour stop in Santa Rosa, California last month.

When one audience member asked Ellen if she plans to return to movies or Broadway, she replied, “Um. No. This is the last time you’re going to see me. After my Netflix special, I’m done.”

She also addressed the scandal that had plagued her NBC daytime talk show four years ago, ending her run as one of the TV’s most beloved presenters.

“Let me catch you up on what’s been going on with me since you last saw me,” she began. “I got chickens.

“Oh yeah, and I got kicked out of show business for being mean.”

While she did not apologize directly for her alleged actions and off-screen behavior, Ellen added, “I can be demanding and impatient and tough. I am a strong woman.

“I am many things, but I am not mean.”

The final episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show was aired on May 26, 2022, two years after the bombshell Buzzfeed report that derailed her career was published.

Former staffers claimed they were subjected to a “toxic work environment”, sharing their experiences of “racism, fear, and intimidation” during their tenure.

Ellen announced her tour in a May release from producer Live Nation, calling it the “last opportunity to witness a comedy legend in her final curtain call.”

One week after she announced her plans to quit show business, Ellen canceled a number of upcoming tour stops, including four shows in Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle, and Dallas.

FLIP SHOW

According to The Riv magazine, Ellen, whose net worth is estimated at $500 million, has flipped over 50 homes in the last two decades.

She closed eight property deals in 2022 alone, calling house flipping “my version of travel” in an interview with the publication.

“I don’t really travel a lot. So, house flipping is my version of travel/ With house flipping, the scenery changes though I stay in the same general area,” she said.

“Only in a new place and from a new perspective,” Ellen added.

Other well-practiced celebrity flippers include model Sofia Richie, Disney legend Miley Cyrus, and America’s Got Talent judge Sogia Vergara.

“Successful flippers remodel the entire property. Some teardown homes and rebuild,” Los Angeles real estate expert Stacey Franklin told The U.S. Sun.

“Others take on small projects, such as remodeling surfaces only or changing tiles in the kitchen.

“Celebrities have realized they can make even more money than their day jobs by flipping and creating extra wealth,” she added.
