Avenged Sevenfold to Showcase Early Albums at Special Show

Avenged Sevenfold have announced a special 25th anniversary show at which they’ll play songs from their early albums Waking the Fallen and City of Evil. The concert will take place October 25that The Observatory Orange County in Santa Ana, California, and will also feature fellow Orange County band Death by Stereo, who are celebrating their 25th anniversary, as well.

Interestingly, Death by Stereo are headlining, with Avenged Sevenfold as support, giving the evening an old-school vibe. Tickets are only $25, but are exclusive to members of Avenged’s Deathbats Club, for which an NFT purchase is required.

Avenged Sevenfold’s sophomore album Waking the Fallen was released in 2003, and still featured the band’s early metalcore sound on favorites like “Unholy Confessions” and “Second Hearbeat.” City of Evil followed in 2005, and launched A7X into mainstream success with its more traditional hard rock and heavy metal sound on hits like “Bat Country” and “Seize the Day.”

The concert will give fans an opportunity to see Avenged in intimate setting, after the band headlined US arenas and played massive European festivals earlier this year. It’s also one of the few times to catch Avenged live for the rest of the year, as their only other scheduled gigs include Rocklahoma on August 30th and Rock in Rio on September 15th.

Last year, Avenged Sevenfold released Life Is But a Dream…, their first album in seven years. The band also returned to the road for the first time in a handful of years after singer M. Shadows’ vocal cord surgery sidelined them in 2018.
