The influencer, Japan Eat, shared a Facebook reel about the visit.

“I went to a Denny’s in Japan, and the difference shocked me to my core,” he said in the video.

Showing off the chain’s different aesthetic and menu, he called it “a beautiful example of culture shock.”

VIBE SHIFT

Japan Eat showed off the ordering tablet and the elegant paper menus.

The meals included salads and rice, while also including a few familiar favorites like bacon and scrambled eggs.

However, traditional American flapjacks were nowhere to be seen.

In his narration, the influencer said the difference is in how Denny’s is used.

“In America, Denny’s are used to satiate the inebriated,” he said.

Customers shared a range of reactions in the comments.

Some said they preferred the Japanese version.

“I’ve been there! It’s great! Higher quality ingredients!” one claimed.

Others felt upset by the differences.

“No pancakes no Denny’s,” one user said with a sobbing emoji.

“A hard pass on this one,” another added.

BREAKFAST CHANGES

The breakfast industry in the US is undergoing dramatic changes.

Denny’s has been closing locations across the country.

Some of the company’s franchisees have struggled with bankruptcy.

Meanwhile, rival Perkins is tyring to revamp its image.

Cracker Barrel, also struggling, has taken a similar step.
