Holland Taylor And Sarah Paulson Have No Plans To Marry

Holland Taylor and Sarah Paulson have been dating since 2015.

Holland Taylor and Sarah Paulson have been together for nearly a decade, but fans shouldn’t expect to see the actors wed anytime soon.

In an appearance Thursday on SiriusXM’s “Andy Cohen Live,” Holland spoke about the “wonderful resonance” she and Paulson share but acknowledged that marriage doesn’t appear to be in the cards ― at least not yet.

“We’ve never talked about it with any interest,” she said. “It doesn’t seem to mean to us what it means to a lot of people.”

The Emmy-winning actor also touched on the couple’s 32-year age gap, noting: “A lot of things that she’s going through that are very emotional and important to her right now I went through, you know, 40 years ago, 30 years ago. And she brings them up in my memory and I think, ‘Of course this is hard,’ or ‘Of course that’s great.’”

Paulson and Taylor went public with their relationship in 2015, shortly after both actors opened up about their sexuality in interviews.

Speaking to The New York Times in March 2016, Paulson said she thought Taylor was “the most exquisitely beautiful woman I’d ever seen” when the two were first introduced about a decade before they began dating.

The “American Horror Story” actor noted she’s always gravitated toward older partners. “There’s a poignancy to being with someone older. I think there’s a greater appreciation of time and what you have together and what’s important, and it can make the little things seem very small.”

Prior to her relationship with Taylor, Paulson dated fellow actor Cherry Jones (who is 18 years her senior) from about 2004 to 2009. She was also previously engaged to actor-playwright Tracy Letts in the 1990s.

Appearing on Chelsea Handler’s “Dear Chelsea” podcast last year, Paulson once again gushed about Taylor, calling her the “smartest, wisest, funniest, most extraordinary person I’ve ever met.”

“I can’t imagine not being with her. I just can’t,” she said.

In her “Andy Cohen Live” chat, Taylor offered similar sentiments, noting that she and Paulson “are very interested in the same kinds of things, and yet we share big differences.”

Among those shared interests, it seems, is a deep passion for theater. Taylor is currently starring as “N,” a character inspired by House Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) in the Broadway production of “N/A.” Taylor was nominated for a Tony for her 2013 role as the late Texas Gov. Ann Richards in “Ann.”

In June, Paulson won a Tony Award for her chilling performance in “Appropriate.”
