A TikToker shared a six-part story about how her longtime boyfriend proposed to her by creating an epic Law & Order SVU-themed scavenger hunt.
TikToker Maddie and her now-fiancé Ty had been dating for 10 years before Ty made the decision of a lifetime – to finally propose to his girlfriend.
But it couldn’t be an ordinary proposal, as Ty wanted to make sure his future wife knew just how much he understood and loved her.
So, he decided to put together a scavenger hunt inspired by her favorite TV show, Law & Order SVU.
During this, Maddie was given strict instructions on how to be the ultimate detective for the wholesome escapade that would end up taking her a whopping 12 hours to complete.
She was even instructed by Law & Order SVU actor Ice-T. “Your job is to find Ty before the sunset,” the actor said in an exclusive message just for her.
The first step in her scavenger hunt took her to the local park, where Maddie was met by her sister-in-law and nephew.
After they figured out the first few clues in her top-secret mission, Maddie was then led to a restaurant, where some of her friends were waiting for her.
She was then served her beverage in a “San Diego Zoo” cup, leading her to believe her next clue would be there.
As the TikToker wandered around the zoo to find her next clues, she was met by her best friend who flew in from the East Coast. “Literally ugly tears when I saw her,” she said.
After spending time with her favorite animals, Maddie’s clue led her to a speakeasy where her cousin was waiting for her.
Lastly, she was greeted by her mom inside of Nordstrom, who bought her a cute dress, shoes, and makeup to freshen up for her big moment.
Maddie and her mom then walked hand in hand to the same spot where her dad proposed to her mom. Finally, she found what she was looking for – Ty on one knee in front of a gorgeous orange sky.
Maddie’s final surprise, though, would be a celebration of their engagement with all of her and Ty’s loved ones.
Much like Maddie and Ty’s story, TikToker Emma Blevins also went viral for inviting all of her husband’s loved ones to Costco for a surprise birthday party. As he walked down each aisle, a family member or friend popped up, adding to the excitement of it all.
