A TikToker went viral after sharing bizarre footage of her microwave seemingly talking to her, sparking wild theories from viewers.
In a 27-second clip with over 10.5 million views, content creator Cecil (dieselhill) captured the strange noises coming out of her kitchen appliance.
“HELP. Every time we flip the breaker for the kitchen we hear someone talking SO CLEARLY THROUGH our microwave. We have heard really creepy sounds,” she wrote over the video, which starts with a recording of a white microwave with a green LCD display.
After a moment, a man’s voice can be heard coming from the microwave, saying: “Talk dirty to me. Talk dirty to me!” before singing: “I’m a man, I’m a man, I’m a man, yes I am, yes I am, yes I am. I’m a man, I’m a man, I’m a man.”
In the comments, many TikTok users offered theories about what might’ve caused Cecil’s kitchen appliance to talk. “Seems like your microwave is possessed by a really friendly, goofy ghost,” one person wrote. “HOW DOES SOMEONE HACK A MICROWAVE IM SO CONFUSED,” another said.
“Someone said Interstellar and now I’m not going to be able to sleep tonight,” a third added. “Picking up sounds from a neighbor’s baby monitor,” someone else speculated.
In a follow-up clip, the content creator said she found out that her microwave allows people to record messages and voice notes on it, and it’s also packed with an FM radio.
One viewer believed that the message was recorded in 2014: “That microwave has a voice memo feature. He’s singing ‘Talk Dirty’ by Jason Derulo AND ‘I’m The Man’ by Aloe Blacc. Both songs are from 10 years ago, so I’m guessing he recorded this around a decade ago.”
Another person shared that they used to record messages on their microwave as a child to spook future homeowners. “Seems like someone did that here too!” they added.
