Dave Grohl is taking a few of days off in between dates of Foo Fighters’ “Everything or Nothing At All Tour” and participating in a very important exercise: finally embracing the glory of Brat Summer and doing the “Apple” dance with his daughter, Harper.
He stands for a full three hours during Foo Fighters concerts, so it’s no surprise that he’s seated at the kitchen table for the dance. Harper stands behind him pretty much acing the routine. Dave, on the other hand, gets the moves right, even if his timing is slightly off — still, when they reach the end of the 15 second dance, he devolves into full silliness, mugging at the camera as he grooves. Watch the clip from Harper Grohl’s TikTok page below.
In case you’re unaware of the ongoing “Apple” phenomenon, the song arrived on Charli XCX’s (excellent) new album Brat, which came out in June. The dance is attributed to TikTok creator Kelley Hayer and has since been replicated by literal thousands. Dave Grohl now joins the long list of celebrities who have done the routine, including Kim Gordon, Joe Jonas, Stephen Colbert, Twisters stars Glen Powell, Daisy Edgar-Jones, and Anthony Ramos, and Charli XCX herself.
Dave Grohl resumes his duties with Foo Fighters this weekend with a show in Denver. Revisit our recap of their (rained-out) tour opener in New York City from this month, and get tickets to see Foo Fighters here. Knowing Dave, we wouldn’t put it past him to include a cover of Charli’s “Apple” at a future Foo Fighters concert.
