Following the recent release of vulnerable album cut ‘Sorry’, the Scottish band are back with the pop-rock ragers.

With new album ‘Meltdown’ set to drop on August 09 via Staple Diet Records, the title track is another wickedly emotional cut.

Speaking on the newly released single, frontman Sam McTrusty has shared:

“This was one of the easiest songs we’ve ever written as a band. It was the last song we added to the album after we felt like a certain flavour was missing, so we wrote this with a real purpose and I think that comes across in the simple nature of all the musical parts that Ross put together.

“The track feels really raw and honest, which has always been our mission as a band. With Ross and I being dads of two we are very very familiar with the word meltdown of late. All of that being said after a meltdown you have to step back and learn from it and rebuild. Culturally it feels like we are all experiencing that right now so the word and meaning really resonated with the bigger picture of life going on around us when we made the album.”

With the album’s release swiftly approaching, ‘Meltdown’ sits perfectly alongside the previously released ‘Get Out’, ‘Stuck In A Car With You’, ‘Asleep’, and ‘World Class Entertainment’.

Produced by McTrusty and bassist Ross McNae and mixed by longtime collaborator Romesh Dodangoda, McTrusty has spoken about the process of creating their eighth album:

“Over the last 18 months we have been relentlessly obsessing over the making of a new album. We built two studios to have our own freedom and space to dig deeper into the essence of our band.

“That freedom evolved into engineering and producing the album ourselves. Zero outside influences. What we’ve got in the end is something we are so proud of and feels like our best work yet. The time felt right to revisit our roots and dive back into the big chorus’s and massive guitars that shaped our band’s early years, but obviously having lived life and toured the world since then we found an evolution of that sound.”

To celebrate the album’s release, Twin Atlantic will return to the road this winter for a run of UK dates in November.

Kicking off at Boilershop in Newcastle, the tour culminates with a show at London’s Brixton Electric on November 14.
