BIG Brother fans have been convinced that houseguest Tucker Des risked his chance of winning the show as he entered the house.
Fans of the CBS and Paramount+ reality show flocked to social media as the Season 26 premiere aired, citing an infamous show superstition.
Early in Wednesday’s episode of Big Brother, viewers were introduced to eight of the 16 houseguests, including Tucker.
After making their introductions and chatting with host Julie Chen Moonves about the rules and more, the group was welcomed to the Big Brother house.
Fans watching at home noticed that some well-versed players hung back while others were eager to get in.
Tucker entered first – a bold choice, according to seasoned viewers.
Big Brother fans believe the first guest to enter the house is doomed to lose, citing a pattern in previous seasons.
The BigBrotherDaily account on X, formerly Twitter, posted a still of Tucker entering, writing, “First in.”
“Well RIP,” one fan mocked in the replies.
“He’s gonna be one of the first out too,” wrote another fan.

“We all know Tucker’s going home first now,” responded a third viewer.
Someone else suggested that he “sabotaged” his changes of winning.
Another viewer posted video of other players hanging back, refusing to enter first.
They added, “Haven’t even entered the house and 4 people outed themselves as superfans.”
“Making all the superfans be the first group in the door, KNOWING the first-in curse. Cruel!” another fan joked.
NOT SWEATING IT
While fans are concerned about Tucker’s chances of winning Big Brother Season 26, he doesn’t appear concerned with the curse.
In fact, he addressed it in a confessional shortly after he stormed through the house door.
“As a fan of the show I know that they got this curse going on that if you’re the first person to walk in the door you’re never gonna win,” he said, referencing the curse.
“But look, I’m originally from Boston. We had the curse of the great Bambino, and we won the world series so I can beat this supposed curse that we got here in the Big Brother House.”
The curse of the Great Bambino refers to the 86-year World Series draught the Boston Red Sox faced after trading Babe Ruth to the New York Yankees.
BIG CHANGES
While loyal fans tuned in to Wednesday’s episode, the show has been facing calls for a boycott after the network made a big change to its format.
The reality show will no longer have flashbacks or archives available from the live online feeds.
The streaming platform announced the change on its website, leading to outrage online.
“Starting this season, archives and flashbacks are no longer available – but you can still watch all four cameras with our live feeds!” read the announcement.
Fans can still tune into the live feeds to get a 24/7 glimpse into the Big Brother house but won’t be able to go back and watch footage they miss.
“I would be VERY happy if someone would tell me I am reading this wrong…. no more flashback?” one fan questioned on X, formerly Twitter.
“No flashback is CRAZY,” complained a second.
“So not as bad as cancelling the feeds outright, but its a close second…,” posted a third viewer.
“It’s official no more BB for me,” announced a fourth fan.
“What the f? How are we supposed to go back in time to watch?? I have a job and a sleep schedule,” wondered a fifth.
“Seriously we all need to make a BIG stink about this and tag @paramountplus and treaten to cancel our subscriptions,” demanded another fan.
Another fan explained, “Live feeds archives and flashbacks not only allow fans to catch up on the days events after work but also allows for clarification and clarity on sometimes murky situations.”
